Default Can 3" single be ran on a 245?

Can I run 3" single all the way from the manifold in the factory location. My buddy that does exhaust says he has never seen that on a volvo and does not think it can be done. Thanks...

Sure it can be done, the bigger the pipe the lower the exhaust will be to the ground though. There's plenty of room and its easy to route. Use one muffler behind the rear axle. If you do turbo in the future remember the turbo will act like a muffler. I have 2.5" on my 244 and I don't think I would go bigger.

So 2 1/2 is enough flow even when I get a turbo eventually?

It all depends on who answers the question. I think 2.5" is plenty big for 200 hp that will come from a maxed pump, lift pump added, head work, upgraded turbo and inter cooler. You may get a few extra ponies going to 3" from 2.5" after all the rest of the upgrades have been done.

It's not much of muffler at all, its a racing muffler from moroso. I will see if I can find the link. The turbo muffles it more then the "muffler" does.

I have 2 of those in 3" on my 745.
