Hi All , can anyone tell me how hot you can go with the EGT on a standard build engine before you start getting into trouble.
Also I am thinking of rebuilding the bottom end of my Acl and need a reasonably priced supplier for the parts,gaskets etc any ideas.

I get nervous around 1100 degrees. What is an acl?

83 D24T 245 .50mm oversized pistons, 3 inch exhaust, but otherwise stock except the boost is turned up to 20 psi. 81 VW Caddy 1.6TD with some minor head work, and big exhaust.

An ACL is the VW version of the D24T same engine but lower output.
