Default Hello - looking for D24T info

Great to find a D24T forum. I've been looking at the D24T as a great option for a couple of projects. So, I'll post a couple of questions on the general board shortly.

A little bit on who am I: I've just moved to Nebraska, and the spousal unit said it was cool to find a house with a good sized shop, she calls it the "Man-Cave." A 40x50 shop with a smooth cement floor is something I have never had, wooo hooo !! I worked for my dad in his auto shop until I left for college in the early 80's, did tune-ups, clutches and brakes on bunches of rabbit diesels, I had an 1983 Volvo 240GL wagon for many years (gasser), drove an 85 Mercedes 300D for a while, still have it but it needs a lot of suspension, electrical work, and a valve job. I have a 76 MB 240D, which is still faster than the VW buses I've owned. The MB OM616 (that is Oel Motor type 616) is a sweet engine - 2.4L NA, 68 HP, I think I read that MB has a 240D in its museum with 2.8 million miles on it.

So ... I got this $100 Porsche 924 from my neighbor and noted that the D24 or better the D24T might - kinda - just bolt right in ....

plus assorted VW's and a MB 300D - future projects?

Default '83 760 GLE Brick red

Hey, I'm in Athens, GA and I have an '83 760 GLE with many "quirks" like a blown head gasket, faulty turbo, fuel gauge and odom that do not work and the weirdest oil drain you've probably ever seen. I've had the fuel injection pump rebuilt and put a new radiator in it as well. Needless to say, I'll be posting and asking questions on the repair threads. Nice to find this site. I've had my 760 for about 3 years now. I'm also on the Bajaj scooter forum in case there's any d24t/bajaj crossover!
