So I ended up buying this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/VW-546-Valve...286160?vxp=mtr I do not have the cam in the head at the moment, or I would have tried it already. But I'm sure when it comes time I will be able to use it as a starting point and modify it to work on the D24T. And on another note... I think I have reached the half way point on the rebuild. I honed the cylinders this weekend, and am hoping to get the block painted (GREEN) this week. Crankshaft bearings should be here at the begining of next week, so I can start putting it all back together then. |

Nice paws!
Thanks for the pictures! It appears the OD is the same, but I will have to make the ID slightly bigger. Spenser |

Yes now i have a chance to see that our d24t tool is more beefy and it has a larger id clearly visible. Let me know IF you need exact measurements later... **OD isn`t actually the same, crappy picture #4 was trying to show the difference. (Their handles were lined up side by side to illustrate this.) Let me try posting a few more shots. Last edited by RedArrow; 06-01-2015 at 04:42 PM. Reason: i took a few more pictures for diesel brickers to see |

Loitering near the beer fridge I found a glass bottle in my spice rack that is an exact fit in there. Then caveman style I did the same with the 2574.
