Need head for n/a d24
I have a backup generator with a d24 naturally aspirated diesel. THe engine is mounted vertically. it is the darnest looking setup i have ever seen. The head is eroded under the injectors to the point the injectors will not set properly. I would like to buy a complete head. My email is gold642@yahoo.com. Please let me know if you have one or know where to get one. I am in Northeast ohio

I dont have a D24 head but I do have a D24T head that needs new guides. I'm not sure if it would work or not. I think the stud holes are for slightly larger studs than on the n/a engine but if thats the only difference, it would work.
I know the n/a heads will work on the turbo engines with very minor mods including drilling out the stud holes. Is your generator the model built by Morrison Knudsen? Those things are pretty rare. Steve |

The D24T head will have the extra coolant outlet at the rear which may be an issue. Also, it should really be saved for a D24T engine that needs it. ;-) A lowly NA motor doesn't deserve it!
Tom Bryant probably has one that he can spare. Also Jerry at Northwest Connecting Rod (our local machine shop) has a fully rebuilt complete one ready for sale at a pretty reasonable price. Might give him a call.

The engine is in a 1979 generator. I had a email from a guy who is selling me an entire engine for 200.00 so thanks for your help. Ted

I have a head from a D24 N/A if you're still looking. Let me know if you're still in need.
