Default Help, I am Locked in My 245 and I Can't Get Out

I just got back from a test drive in my '82 245 after reinstalling the IP and found myself locked in the car. The drivers door has issues so that part was not a surprise, but all 4 doors would not open. I had to call my son-in-law to come over and get me out. Luckily the tailgate was still functional. The idea of doing a face plant trying to get out a door window was not appealing.

The buttons go up and down as they should in both power and manual mode. I disconnected the battery in case it was a power lock issue, to no avail.

So what gives? Has anyone else heard of this?

The buttons go up and down, but NONE of the doors would open even if you pulled the lock buttons up manually??

I'm not entirely clear on what situation you are describing... even if the power locks went haywire and were locking automatically, you could still override them by forcing a lock button up and opening the door.

Glad to hear you got the car running!
