Default bellhousing patterns for engine swap

My apologies if this has already been covered in another thread that I haven't found yet.

Anyone around that is familiar with bellhousing similarities and differences between D24/D24T's and VW 4-cylinder diesels? I am wanting to swap an '86 VW Jetta 1.6 turbo diesel engine into an '85 Toyota pickup, so I'm trying to learn about all transmission possibilities, Volvo/VW/whatever will and won't work...

Thanks in advance.

Acme adapters has the adapter your looking for. The 4 cylinder VW engines have a different bell housing pattern than the 5&6 cylinder engines.
