Thank you. I seldom tow anything, just like the look of it. Since it's not a sportscar there's no reason to unmount the trailerhitch.
A crankshaft availible for the LT 45/55 gave longer stroke. So you got a 2.8 litre engine instead of 2.4.

Found in a thread on a swedish forum: http://dcsforum.se/dieselsnack/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4766

Interesting. Sounds similar to a 1.6L vs 1.9L 4-cylinder, except in the case of the 1.9 I think there is a slightly taller block to achieve the longer stroke and IIRC the bore diameter is a little larger too. Wonder if it would really be possible to make the stroke on one of these engines longer just by putting in a different crank and rods? Would be especially interesting if the D24T block could also be bored out enough to accept the larger 1.9L pistons and add even a little more displacement that way... Don't know whether there is enough wall thickness but if someone ever had a block with bores that were too trashed to be able to use regular oversize D24T pistons, it might be an interesting experiment.

I know there was also a gasoline version of the D24 for use in some LT vans. Never heard of the longer stroke diesel though. Would be great to know more info about it if you have any...
