Some teardown with the short block and a lot of cleaning :
all the pistons are 77.48 (third size ) and are in very good shape no traces of leaks under rings or something of this type ![]() the cylinders are good too with the eye except rust on the top part because of the long storage. the squirters are all good and here. just the n 6 that don't want to go out ![]() i don't want to break it if i bang him . ![]() next step will be to lighten and balance the pistons and conrods the head is nearly done here : http://d24t.com/showthread.php?670-H...-and-relatives ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks for your interest !

Here is a bit of what i did to the head after the ports job.
![]() ![]() ![]() I broke the sharp angle in the inside valve perimeter to alow more flow at the intake and exhaust strokes. I didn't touch the exterior perimeter part because sharp angles here helps a lot to share turbulences during compression and give a better mix between fuel and air. a before and after shot : ![]() ![]() pistons will come next ![]()

What are you planning to do to lighten the rods? I suppose the idea is to remove some material from each one? Are you planning on balancing the entire rotating assembly? Excellent work, and thank you for sharing. I saw a few of your videos on Youtube, well done.

I try to share because those engines are so cool and not enough loved ![]() About the conrods : i will remove material from the cap and from the pin bushing part (i don't know the name) But i will make the oil reserve bigger first and remove aroud. i will try to soften or remove the typical vein of the forging process and a bit of polishing. i will balance all of them of course and give them the same weight I don't know if the machine shop in town make the dynamic balancing i will have to see that following the wallet capabilities.... a set of main bearings is 250 euros yet + condors bearings 150 euros +gaskets etc.... i need a bore gauge to see if the block is really still good first ![]() ![]()
