I drive D24TIC M47 3.07 with big wheels (215/80/15") and it drives very well. (i call them "overdrive-wheels")
Jason is right,when i set of in first gear, i have to slip the clutch a little but it's no problem for me.
Even on holyday's when i tow the folding-caravan with full packing on the roof and inside, the torque of the D24TIC handles it all well.
There's one point to be carefull; watch your temp.gauge, the lower rpm causes the coolantflow to be not strong enough to cool the engine so sometimes i shift to 4th to create more flow and make it a little easyer for the engine.
