Many other online auto groups have "events" sections where members can organize get-togethers, show-n-shines, etc. A lot of them also have areas that are either labeled "off-topic" or "regional" or the like, where members can post about borrowing tools, books, getting some assistance with their car, etc and other members who are in the nearby area can offer to help out.

Would an Events section on this forum be something that people might use? I know it is a small forum and our members are scattered throughout the US and many from Europe and beyond as well, but I know that at least here in the Northwest we probably have a big enough group to get a small gathering organized at some point. It could be a good way to connect with other Volvo and VW Diesel owners as well; for instance, in an Events section someone could cross-post an event posting from a VW diesel forum, TDIclub, Turbobricks, OVT, etc. and us diesel owners could go mingle with others, swap ideas and parts, etc. If we could get a side-group of five or six Volvo diesels at a TDIclub or Turbobricks meet, it would be pretty cool.

Any thoughts? As a side note, would anyone be interested in a Pacific Northwest gathering sometime within the next few months, either in Seattle or Portland or somewhere in between?
