To be fair, I grabbed this engine out of the junkyard with unknown amount of miles on it. Looked clean, no leaks, Also the block was painted black, somebody was in there at some point. The car it came from looked like it was sitting for a decade. When I put the engine in to the car, I did have a hard time getting it going. but once I messed with fuel settings and putting manual glow plugs and new glow plugs in. then I had it running. .. .. pooorly. horrible miss that I dealt with for 4 years until this summer when I tried my hydrolock method to unstick some piston rings. I did manage to get the compression up on the two lowest reading cylinders, engine then ran smoothly.


I haven't done anything yet. been cold and snowy and I don't want to until I get the OM616 put back together and running.
