1/2 inch torque wrench should be OK as long as it can achieve the necessary 255 ft-lbs. This works out to actual ~340 ft-lbs at the bolt itself, after the torque multiplication of the 5188 special tool.
Remember that torque wrenches are most accurate in the middle of their ranges.
