The 616 seems like it may be a downgrade from the D24T in terms of power. Old tech and two fewer cylinders. The D24 platform is cutting edge design compared to the 616, it can trace a line back to the 1930s! Heavy motor for the power it makes, too. I respect them for their toughness but hard to see having much fun with it.

Won't try to talk you out of it but seems like fixing or replacing the D24T might give better results? There's always the attraction of trying something new though I suppose.
