Also, I think I found an easier solution to to the fluid issue. Someone suggested a rubber boot.

I think it will work, when I get a little time I am going to try it. It looks like it should be able to handle a little side to side swing, and the in and out of the shift linkage.

We, the LT fraternity, would like to know whether these boots are available in Europe. ?Is there a part number which we could use over here from a Volvo.
The gearshift in the LT has three of these boots, 2" x 7/8" x 4"long for you chaps, and they are no longer available from VW and searching endless catalogues is far from cathartic.
