I have a cam sprocket counterhold tool and the wrench too.

The wrench you may be able to get by without. The counterhold tool, you really need. Fortunately, that one is easy to find, because it is the only D24 tool that is also specified for use on the newer Volvo gas engines... so, as a result, Volvo dealers still use them all the time and therefore keep them around and handy, as opposed to the rest of the diesel tools, which most Volvo dealers probably haven't touched for 15 years now (assuming they still have them at all!).

The counterhold tool, number 9995199, is something you should be able to buy fairly cheap (under $50) or borrow from any Volvo dealer or independent Volvo garage worth its salt.

The wrench is nice to have and probably harder to find nowadays, but a cut-down 19mm socket on a breaker bar or a combination wrench with a piece of pipe slipped over it might do the job in its place.

I do have a pop tester, compression tester, and valve adjustment tools plus a complete shim kit, to respond to Tyler's post about the tool wish list.
