The D24 covers have the "DIESEL" stamping and D24T covers do not. You want the D24T cover since it's compatible with the oil separator puck that the TD motors need, the D24 motors just used a hose with no means for controlling crankcase gas flow. Also easier to use since the turbo cover has the oil fill in front, rather than next to the firewall...

Nevertheless folks have used the D24 cover on TD engines, appearance-wise some seem to prefer it, but it has functional drawbacks.
