If it's just the valva guides seals it's "ok".
i hope for you it's just that.
Could it be a piston ring wich is stuck ?
the tool you are working on is interesting.
It would be very cool if you gave few pics of it when finished.
i did one to remove the valves but once the head off the car.
it's ugly but works good.
