Help Wanted, Bosch Fuel Injection Tester
I need someone (possibly a retiree) to teach me how to use my Bosch Model EFEP 515 Fuel Injection Pump Test Bench.

Congratulations on your new test bench.
When I had my Alfa, I was lucky to have a nearby SPICA FI guru. Those IPs are inline pumps, more similar to those used in the old Mercedes diesels. Wes is friendly and helpful; he might have some good info for you. http://www.wesingram.com/hp.htm My first take is that the VE distribution type IPs have different areas that require attention. Example: I remember Wes having to spend the most efforts in matching those little pistons/cylinders to produce a balanced output. The VE pump, of course, has one piston that gets its output directed to each fuel pipe in order. Probably the most important piece of documentation you will need is the IP model number code to test specs listing. Do you know if that test bench measures internal advance? That is one of the issues I am most interested in. |

Unfortunately, I think Wes is probably a bit too far away to help me. Tom |
I bought some equipment from a fuel injection shop called Vigor Diesel in Everett, MA when I was located in the area. Could be worth calling them and seeing if they have any materials, or perhaps know of someone knowledgeable on these in New England. Maybe they'll have a phone number for a former employee or other expert who could help.
