Any interest in modded D24 intake?

I would like to see if there's any interest in a modded D24 intake. The intake is gasket matched, and slightly polished runners, best of all the rear rubber cap eliminated, welded shut with pressure port. say $125?

Ya know...

I don't know, How much boost will the rubber cap hold?
|
The first cap I blew off at 20 psi or so, the next one I glued on and T-clamped it. that held for few thousand miles before it got replaced with the welded intake. I like having the port on the back for a true boost reading also.
There is lots of force on the rubber cap when running 20lbs of boost, there is about 140 lbs of pressure total pushing on that rubber cap.... When it blows off it's loud! and not to mention embarrassing when your racing a rice burner and all the sudden your down to NA power! |

Ok, I'm in the process of building two intakes. An early version and a later version. ( early intakes don't have the notches in the plenum for the valve cover bolts) I just need to finish up some polishing the bead blast and clean them.

I might be interested in this intake. Do you still have it. I would need the ports to be "D" shaped, which I could do. I'd run it on my 1.9 VW Diesel in my vanagon.
How wide (diameter) is the plenum opening? Let me know if you still have it. Thanks. -Sean |
I replied to your pm.

Do you still have any of these?
|
I have sold 5 of these so far, will only be modding two more to sell unless I come up with more of the intakes. Short answer is yes, I have the one in the back of the picture in post #5 ready to go.
