Pac NW Volvo Diesel Get-Together, February 19 @ Triple X Drive-In, Issaquah, WA

Would there be any interest among the Pacific Northwest Volvo Diesel crowd of meeting up at the 6th Annual Swedish Cruise-In, this coming February at the Triple X Drive-In? This is always a fun event with plenty of Volvos to look at, coming from all over WA State and the Northwest region, and it would be a great opportunity for any D24/T drivers to get together as well. I will be there and hope my diesel will not be the only one in attendance!

Here is information about the location of the meet:

And here is a page with info about the Volvo Club organizing the event:

This would be a good opportunity for a mini-swap meet as well, so if you are coming and have any parts you want to sell or trade, bring'em along.... or if anyone is coming that needs a particular part just ask me, I have a garage full of Volvo Diesel stuff and could probably bring along whatever you need if I knew to grab it beforehand...

Show and help represent the Diesel side of the Volvo world while enjoying plenty of good food, good people, and great cars. Hope to see you there!

George

If I can get my car together in time I would like to be there.

I'll be there. Going to be my fourth year attending and its always a good time.

yeah I'll be planning on going!

I showed up to Issaquah with my freshly swapped D24 in my yellow wagon back in '07.
Was pretty fun and I did hang around 100mph most of the way up there.
D24's are not slow! unless you let them be.

But now I've got the D24T.
It will be much more fun this year.

Great, sounds like we have a good group of diesel cars and owners showing up!

I will probably plan to head out there sometime mid-morning. What time will those of you coming from OR be planning to show up?

Anders, if you are not in your 240 and would like to ride together let me know and we can arrange carpooling from Seattle, could save you some $$ not having to bring a car over on the ferry, especially if it's not a Volvo anyway. ;) Though I am sure if you wanted to bring your Typhoon instead that would get some attention too...

I have multiple D24T Volvos, haven't decided which one to bring to the show yet but if you end up not bringing your car maybe I will have you drive a second one of mine. The more the better, right?

I'll see if I can contact the event organizers and let them know that a few of us will be there, it would be great if they would give us a few adjacent slots so we can park the diesel cars together in one place.

Well the 240 should be running by then, I would like to get some miles on it before it makes the journey though.. Maybe I can trailer it there? If not, carpooling is an idea. I also just picked up a 1983 760 with manual trans. It runs but does need some work ( has sat since 2004) You might of seen it on craigslist for sale in the Port Angeles area. That car might be on the road by then also.. Getting the spots next to each other would be cool.

In the years past the group from Oregon arrive there around 9am. If I get there before you George, Ill save a few spots. Kevin and my brother and I will be showing up. My friend Jeremy as well, with his 84 245 with a d24t.

It looks like the "official" hours of the show are from 10am to 3pm. I will plan to get there at 10 or before to try to set up a diesel zone in the parking lot. :)

It is looking like we may have 10 diesel Volvos at the show, or maybe more! Spread the word -- invite any diesel Volvo owners you know. The more the better!
