1984 244 I just acquired !
 

Hi all . I've been collecting Volvos most of my adult life and recently I came into possession a 1984 240 Diesel . It has 89,000 original miles on it . The odometer works perfect and has never stopped . The story behind it was the injection pump went out on it at around 87k and was parked for years . I picked it up from the Ohio/Michigan line but it was a Illinois car and does have some rust spots I will need to fix but nothing major. The car was sold "non running" to a friend of mine and he got the car running and replaced a lot of parts . I love in central virginia and made the drive a few weeks ago to trailer the car back home.

Today she is drivin a few times a week so far and it's low mileage shows in the ride comfort , condition and overall feel.


I plan on keeping the car as long as she will live and then rebuild the engine if it needs it one day.

Out of all the Volvos I've drivin this is the most smooth and just plain neat to drive !

Thanks y'all! I have 6 more vintage Volvos to accompany it as well ! Although the diesel has become my favorite ! I hope to learn a lot here about the D24 engine as well as build a spare .
