Here some pictures of the engine i'm rebuilding. Everything is clean now. Next step is to paint/refurbish all parts on the outside of the engine, I'll put some pictures here when that's done.

Greetings from holland,

Put the crankshaft and pistons back in recently, all the parts are clean and refurbished now. Now saving money for all the gaskets, belts etc etc....

What kind of build are you doing? Stock, planning on performance?? Are you going to run head studs?

It's gonnna be a stock TIC engine, with a little extra boost and fuel. But it has to run perfect, no smoke no funny noises. That's the most important thing to me. (and it has to look beautiful too ofcourse... What i've done sofar: block honed, assembled with new pistonrings (pistons were in perfect shape), crankshaft polished, new main bearings and conn. rod bearings, new oil pump an new waterpump. Put 6 new exhaust valves in cil head, fuel pump overhauled, replaced nozzels by 6 new ones (bosch). I'm note sure about the headstuds, I think the normal headbolts will do fine with the little extra boost i'm going to run. I will use a steel headgasket though.

Sounds good, where did you source the new oil pump?

The oil pump I bought was German FEBI BILSTEIN, from Ebay germany. Cost: 130 euro's. (I already purchased the pump in 2005 by the way..)
Also, when I inspected the cilinderhead, I noticed very litttle cracks in the pre cumbustion chambers. Have you seen that before? I will make some pictures of it.

I'm putting the engine back together, I have all the gasket kits now (expensive!!).
Because it was a D24T block, I put plugs in the existing coolwaterholes since I won't use the stock oilcooler anymore. I'm gonna use the D24TIC setup, with the separate oilcooler.
