That a nice 245!! Can't imagine the 80bhp non-turbo being too exciting though. Good luck with the Tic conversion, keep us updated!

This is D24TIC engine. In Russia, it costs $ 500 in this condition. Camshaft in poor condition. Valves, valve guides, pistons, camshaft and bearings will be replaced. Cylinders and the crankshaft will be expanded. This is not the entire list of parts that I bought. I think a fuel pump and turbocharger are also in poor condition.

t0nick,

Welcome to the forum! Were there many diesel Volvo cars imported into Russia? I suppose they came into the territory after 1991/2? Is it easy for you to find parts for the D24/T/ic engine?

t0nick 01-14-2012 07:39 PM

In Russia, many cars are Volvo, but 90% gasoline.
For example, in our Moscow Volvo Forum, only 5-8 people have diesel cars.We have ~200 regular members in our Forum. I mean the Volvo 200, 700, 900 series.

In Moscow there are two companies that sell second-hand spare parts for our cars. But in other cities, used spare parts hard to find. Often easier to buy a car completely and take it with necessary spare parts.
New parts can be easily bought in stores. A lot of good quality not OEM parts. There are spare parts available, but most have to wait 2-3 days. In addition, D24T used in VW LT, spare parts for VW are much cheaper.
