what are the largest wheels?
what are the largest wheels i can/should put on my 240?

17s are probably about it without having to run super low profile tires. You may want to check over on turbo bricks there are alot of guys on that forum with bigger wheel/tire combos.

Also, will newer volvo rims fit?

15" wheels with Jeep cheroke off road tyres

I use these babys, gives a rolling radius increase of 14% or thereabouts.
Got them off a 4.0 litre 1998 jeep cheroke , there are no clearance issues at the rear but they foul the spring platforms on the front struts (just, by 3mm!) Gives better ground clearance when in the fields and with the locker diff i never get stuck in snow or mud. |
just picked up a set of 16" 5 spokes with 205/55`s they sharpened up the steering a bit now it really needs those billies & sway bars ,best thing is its a size thats used on the current s40`s so i got access to plenty of part worns like p7`s happy days.

i was thinking of doing some TSW holsten wheels... but I think they will be a bit big.... probably gonna stick to the MB weapons I already have just for now...
thanks for posting! very little is known about what wheels will fit or rub lol |
Im running 17x7.5 thors on my 244 turbo with 25mm spacers all around. Im running TME lowering springs as well. The rear rubs on the right side becuase of the rearend is shifted to the right due to being slightly lowered. It's only a real problem if I have people sitting in the back seat or a lot of weight in the trunk. What I need is a adustable panhard bar to center the rear end to solve the rubbing.

i have 8"x18" wheels in my 940, and tried the same wheels to a 240, fitted in that too.
the ET is 20mm, and that's just about the highest offset you can have without the inside of the wheel hitting the front struts. So, the maximum backspace is about 121,6mm (4,787"). |
Any pics of your 18's? I'm contemplating some FWD 18's on mine with 25mm IPD spacers.
