Noise in the cockpit, cannot identify, please help

Hi guys, I've got a strange rattle coming from what sounds like deep in the centre of the dashboard, it's obvious at 10mph/1200rpm, and again at about 2500rpm. (It's an auto)
It seems revs/engine related but you can't really hear it outside the vehicle.
I'm now paranoid it's the engine, I've changed the vac pump for new and it made no difference.
I've a video of the symptoms but I'm unsure how to post it up?

Oh the reason I'm struggling to upload the video is because it says it's invalid when i try to

Does this link work guys?

Yes, the link works.
The noise is completely different from what I thought it will be (my car had random very bad loud and disturbing blower motor noises but that wasn't related to engine RPMs).
I hope you get it figured out. The forum isn't too active nowdays. Is everyone at Carlisle Auto Show?:)

It sounds to me like something is vibrating, like there might be a bad engine or transmission mount.

Isnt your fan hitting the fan shroud????

Retrohowla 04-22-2017 03:30 PM

Thanks for the ideas guys, I'll look at those items and report back. It's baffling me currently and because it won't make the noise in park/stationary, it's so hard to pinpoint it.

I finally sussed it guys! It's the throttle cable! Rerouted it with looser clips in the engine bay and the vibrations are gone! Thanks for all the ideas, who'd of thought the throttle cable Could cause that noise!
