Where is the stock tachometer pickup?
 

I cannot find any information by searching the forum or google.... Does anyone know where the pickup for the stock tach is? I think it is on the pump, but don't know for sure. I don't think its on the block, because all sensors there are accounted for.

Is it what I circled in the picture below?

Also, Is what I circled in this picture the fuel cut-off solenoid? I want to make sure I have all my bases covered so I don't wreck anything. A lot of the wiring is in bad shape, and I will probably be replacing most of it. This is why I want to make sure I know what is where.

Tach signal comes from the "W" terminal on the alternator.
What you have circled is the altitude advance solenoid.

This is the Shutoff Solenoid :)

This Altitude Thing is under the Pump (looks like the same as the shutoff valve- But be aware- the Solenoids are different)

So let me get this straight - The solenoid on the top of the pump head is the fuel cut off solenoid?

And the solenoid down on the side (with the line coming out the back) is the timing advance for high altitude?

What triggers the high altitude solenoid?

Correct. Also shown as item 240 in the diagram sonny included.
Correct again. Anders was correct. In your attached photo, the finger is pointing to the altitude compensation solenoid.

The tuna can mounted on the shock tower, next to the GP relay.

And now I finally know what the tuna can is for - that one boggled my mind and I had come to think it was missing parts lol

Sorry NGOMA was right :)

The First Photo (Non Turbo Pump) = Shutoff solenoid.
Second Photo (Finger is Pointing to a Solenoid) is the Altitude Timing Solenoid.

But Anders is wrong:
"What you have circled is the altitude advance solenoid." - Circled, i think he means the First Photo, and the Yellow Circled Thing is definitiley a Shutoff solenoid.

I didn't even look close to the first photo, it was the second one I was referring too..

Next time I'll use a red circle and a blue circle ;P
