Diesel leaks, pump help
Hello guys I have a problem since I bought my 760 84/D24T
The pump leaks some diesel, if I turn the key and the glowplugs work, leaks by the plastic thingy. When I turn off the car continues leaking a little bit. It is not a catastrophic leakage because mileage is 35 miles per gallon, but I want to fix it. Here you can see this plastic thing and you can see a drop waiting to fall http://i84.servimg.com/u/f84/12/44/39/82/dsc00810.jpg Here is a general picture of the engine http://i84.servimg.com/u/f84/12/44/39/82/dsc00811.jpg Do you have any ideas what would be the problem? Thanks, sorry for my English |
today I got the plastic tap out, and I see something like a valve, and the leaking begins as bubbles of air mixed with diesel.
I have another fault, my brick has two diesel tanks, and there must be a bad union or pipe between both, because when I fill the tank and the second tanks begin to fill leakes diesel. so I only fill one tank (half gauge) could it be related? |

Thats not too bad of a fix. You will need the Bosch VE pump gasket kit, a few people on Ebay sell them if you dont have a diesel pump shop around you. The gasket kit part number is DGK-121.
Here is a link with good pictures and write up on replacing the o-rings that are leaking. You will have to take the lid off your pump to do it. http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/d....html?t=153154 This is a cummins VE pump, but its the almost the same pump with a couple different looking outer parts. Either way, the afc housing is the same thing. The gasket kit does everything from the 4cyl vw VE pumps up to the 6 cyl cummins pumps. Hope this helps. Jason |
