Swirl Chambers on hydraulic head

Can anyone help me with this? I am rebuilding two D24T’s and ran int to a bit of an issue when I am reassembling the swirl chambers. Iafter cleaning them I have found that the chambers don’t fit snugly anymore... my chambers are the 32mm ones. Any part numbers? Helpful hints? Work-around?

Thanks,
Phil

I’m not sure there is a workaround for loose chambers, my head builder would not rebuild the head if the chambers are loose. Lots of damage happens when one of those decide to fall out..

What about knurling the hole? Or staking? Somewhere I recall they should be a .002" press fit.

I would ask here

They mostly have been at this longer than us.

Sometimes they call them prechambers, or precups.

Swirl chamber

So my manual says: “Loose pre-chambers are harmless. Mount pre-chambers which have fallen out so that pre-chamber fixing screw slots into the recess on cylinder head.”

Not a big deal after all. Oh, this info was in my Pinzgauer manual, not the Green Book.

You should definitely take the chambers out because the two heads I am building both had caked on crap all over it! I can imagine that eventually you would either foul the chambers enough that the fuel spray is reduced to a drip or chunks of crap end up in the bore.

Thanks for the replies!

Phil
