That's awesome! There is quite a few of my capped manifolds around now..
How do you like the HY35? Any mods to the frame rails for fitment? |
No mods to the frame rail, had to put an 1/8 shim under the pass.side engine mount though because the turbo would tap on the frame rail every so often on the way home the first day. I wish boost would start a couple hundred rpm sooner but it moves pretty well 3k and up. I found there are upgradable compressor wheels out there that could decrease spool time. Also tightening up the wastegate a little bit should make boost come on a little bit quicker.

Car is now in the shop. Maybe the engine and transmission will be out soon.

Looks very clean. Is that orange or red?

It's red, for some reason my phone makes it look orange.
I made some progress on it today. I got the engine and transmission pulled out and the engine bay degreased. |

Clean engine bay ready for a d24t!

Look at that before & after!!! What was your degreasing method?
|
Purple power degreaser and a pressure washer.
Life is much better when putting a car together that's not a ball of grease. |
Plans have changed.. Car will be getting a different d24 that's 1mm over and it will get a fresh rebuilt head along with studs. The car is now being built for a member here, I will be keeping my 92 d24t for another 242 build.
