Volvo 940
 

Hi all,

I'm sadly selling my Volvo 940 diesel estate.
It runs absolutely perfectly and over the last year has had a full overhaul.
I had the head off while doing the timing belts and water pump, inside was like new and the bottom end seemed to have no wear to the bores at all.
With the way I am I striped the head and serviced it as a matter of course. After reading about the head gaskets on this engine I opted for a L-ring multi layer steel gasket and Victor Reins head bolts. I Also fitted a full set of new injectors and changed all the glow plugs. Needless to say it starts on the button hot or cold with no smoke at all.
New oil in the engine and auto box and all filters replaced.
The car it's self drives lovely however has been my work horse and has a few dents and scratches not bad for a 24 year old volvo though. I am in the U.K
I have spent nearly a £1000 doing the bits and pieces, the injectors were not cheap. I would be happy to get somewhere near that for the whole car. I have enjoyed owning and repairing her however a new project has arrived and it's time for her to go.

such a f..k.ng shame... usa (on purpose) froze import on diesel volvos for 28y, since 1985/86
never seen/heard of, for example a diesel 900 here, or a 5cyl D `brick` AND many many many other awesome cars either...

there are a few of us uk dwellers on here, i'm sure with a few photos maybe you might find some more interest. sounds like it's in very good condition mechanically at least! wish i could persuade mom to get rid of the crap V70 TDI in favour of another D24 Brick!

Could you give us some more details about spec, condition and maybe some photos. Might be able to cross post to the voc forums and see if there's any interest there?
