Vomaz: Volvo 245 82model

[Vomaz]

I got this car very cheap, and fixed some things and got plates on.. Now it has a turbo from a LT and 2,5 exhaust (no muffler) and tuned up fuel pump.. The car has gone 416000km before turbo konv.

The next to do is to get a new radiator and a intercooler...
The boost is 1.4-1.5

I have tuned the engine some more, The boost is now 1.7 and I've started to fix a M46 and a rear diff- lock from a 740..

Now I have some more parts too put on the car..
gonna change shocks in front with wheelbearings and put on poly in front and rear..

Maybye Im gonna skip the m46 gearbox and put in an Getrag 265 I have from another project..

Now Iam finish with the front, and soon i will get the steering right.. Still to go is the locker in the rear, and my coupe fan stopped so I'll need to change the motor..

I think I'll use the coupe-register as an cooler for the oilcooler.. and the cooler I use now will be used on oil inlet to turbo.. moore cooled engine..

I see i got a rear axel 1030, and when i was aboute ti install a difflock from a 1031 i got trubble with the pinjong bearing...
so i need to use the original pinjong and the 3.73 wheel, not the 3.91 on the diff lock..

And I will use the m46od to start with.. not the getrag as a was thinking in the beginning..

Looks like lots of progress, nice work! Must handle nicely now with all those new bushings in the rear suspension....

I know people often like to put a True-Trac limited slip differential in the 240's, have you thought about using one of those? May be easier than trying to get a G80 locker to work if the G80 is out of something with a different ratio or other issues....

I think it will be good handling..

I useing a difflock from a Volvo 265 ambulans, but the ratio was 3,91 and from a 1031 rear axel.. I changed the bearings and used the originale ratio (3.73) from the car untill i can change the rear axel to a 1031

The engine and gearbox are moved 3cm forward from a petrol engine so now I gonna make a extension between the gearbox and drivechaft..

Then I can use a petrol gearbox and drivechaft..

Now the driveshaft is ready to mount :) so maybye a little testrun to night :)

And then it's time to fix the cooler for the oil and change som seats and stuff

It runs great now with m47 and 3.54 ratio and diff lock maybye Ill lay out the video tape to confirm it soon :)

Have tested the car alot now and it runs great and not useing oil or vater, but I lost the speedo when i changed the gearbox to M47, so I'am think I'll change the rear axel in next month so i can get speedo from there..

Got an petrol 245 (year 1987) for free that I think I'am gonna use the Rear seats and rear axel, and take the rear lights and some small parts as spare parts..

Hi. Check this out then. The white&black one is a Diesel. I personally like #4, the wagon with 6! doors which could mean 4 seats plus a HUGE trunk. Would be nice to cut roof off of the rear & weld it into a 4 door car with an open pickup-style trunk. Photoshop anyone? :))

The car started to chase the engine speed when driving in Constant speed ..
Otherwise I have to change gearbox from M47 to M46 so I get the speedometer to work, when it is done then I have in the shop check to see if it is approved in two years .. :)
