Wanted - Volvo D24T diesel throttle drum for cruise control

Hi Folks,

I'm after the throttle drum and bracket for a D24 engined Volvo fitted with cruise control...

If you've got one in a junkyard near you, please could you take a look and see if the throttle reel is still on it?

It should look similar to this (with 3 reels) but have a different mounting bracket for the D24(T) engine. :)

Alternatively, does anyone even know the part number for this? That might help in tracking one down!

I could take pictures tomorrow. I have a nonturbo with cruise control and one without.
I am not sure they will show part numbers, but I`ll make sure to check.
PS: no junkyards in the usa have such cars. :(

I might have the valve tools for you. I recall having a spare of many of my tools including valve tools but I need to double check. Shipping will kill the deal for you.

I thought I'd be lucky if I found one (especially in a junkyard) in the US, as I know Diesels are even less popular over there than they were here 25 years ago :) Over here it's rare to find a Diesel 740/940, and almost all of them are very low spec (hence trying to upgrade mine!) :)

I think I only saw a few 740-era Volvos in the USA in my 2 months there with work a couple of years ago :)

Thanks for the offer of the tools, I've managed to sort some now. Just waiting for the shims to arrive and I'm sure I'll have a happier D24T engine! :)

I found a few drawings of td cruiser setups but they are 1986. you may find your 95 setup too.idk.

I'm also looking for this cruise control throttle drum-spool ? Is there anybody who will sell one? I'm cheking ebay last year but didn't found nothing.

Hi Tom, thanks for your reply - A month or so ago I bought a donor car just to get a working cruise control spindle. I appreciate the detailed write-up though, I'm sure that'll help people out :)
