So I have an 85 745 turbo diesel with the M46. Over the summer I installed a Holeset HY35. My issue is the alternator is too close to the turbo to make any sort of inlet to allow an intake pipe and an air filter. I've been trying to find options and recently came across Some Volvo diesels with the alternator on the driver side instead of the passenger side. The accessory bracket looks alot different and I'm wondering if anybody knows what years the alternator has been moved on to the driver side. http:// https://www.instagram.com/p/_kwrypl3rZ/

the alternator has been moved on to the driver side.

That'[s a dubious plane of reference.

TIC cars ha ve the bracket you seek, and a bigger alternator

Get crafty and make your self a mount on the drivers side for a GM 1 wire.
That's my plan when the HY finds itself on a d24t.

I've seen the alternator on the left hand side of the engine on both intercooled and non intercooled ones.

We never got the left hand mounted alternators here in the US. Sourcing the bracket might be a bit difficult but possible. I was going to get two of the brackets but shipping was more then what I wanted to spend.

Of course we didn't, We never got anything good. In my research Ive seen as early as 88 for the left side alternator. If I find somebody that can ship them what would be the price you want to pay for brackets?
