when u got a motor that is so loud how do u tell if the lifters are shot

All us d24 had solid lifters only 94-95 egr had hydraulic. Just check if solid

thanks Reed yeh mine is 95 I just thuoght the audis i serviced in those days used to get noisey about 80k an mines got 190 so i just thought id put it out there

If it has hydraulic lifters and they are noisy, they need replacing. Same lifters used in Audis that go bad every so often.
