Well I finally decided that my engine in my car has had enough..
Little history; the engine that is currently installed in my car came from a rusted out POS 740 with 243,xxx miles on it. I did a quick re-ring, gasket match and porting job on the cylinder head. I recorded all clearances when put together, amazingly enough the rotating assembly was all in new spec.
Cylinder head was far from being in spec though.. Should of been rebuilt 100,000 ago...

So there is now 70,xxx miles on this engine that was quickly put together, so it has a total of 313,xxx miles with no machine work.
During those 70,xxx miles it has seen 30 psi of boost, 20 psi on a daily basis and the injection pump has been maxed the whole time.
I'm very curious to see what it looks like on the inside.

Here is the car that's getting the transplant.

The beautiful engine that is going in.
85 D24T with matched rods, 1mm oversize KS pistons, Clevite Bearings, ARP head studs, Erling 1 notch fiber head gasket, early 11mm cylinder head that has been modified for 12mm studs, it's been ported and gasket matched, it also received a nice set of TRW valves.. To top it off I got some brand new old stock made in France Bosch injectors and a injection pump.

Is that Pontiac blue?

The engine going in my car is painted Detroit Alpine Green. There is a D24t in the background from another forum member here that is painted blue, but I think it's Ford blue.

Looks great as usual...

Any further progress?

Slow on the progress.. It will be ready for the Swedish car show though. Another picture of the engine with cleaned up exhaust manifold and oil filter bracket with temp sensor.

Think I can see at least a few D24 motors in that upper picture... :D

Looking good, what will you be doing for a transmission in this? M46?

Yep, there is a few D24's there..
For now I will be using the M46, it's still shifting fine and holding up. The clutch on the other hand looked to be the weak link, it showed massive signs of wear and slippage.

I got the head studs torqued down, valve cover and modded oil pan on.

She's alive!
I was a little nervous starting it up for the first time with a NOS injection pump that's been sitting a few years, but she fired right up and idled ever so nicely..
A few more things to get done to the car before the show, but most of the hard work has been done..

The build continues with the new owner. He came out to my shop and we installed one of my 12mm built injection pumps. This is the first 12mm plunger/head that I have ran myself. After getting all adjusted I took it for a spin, oh WOW!! I would say it's at no more then 50% capacity, about 3 turns to even get to the fuel collar!

The future plans are a T5 transmission install and compound turbos! Hoping to see 300HP or more.

The owner is planning on intending the car show this year. The car is getting pretty quick, should be a heck a lot of fun with a T5 and compound turbos!

Installing a big intercooler.. that's Craig in the picture, the owner of the car cutting away to fit a intercooler from a 93 dodge d350 with the cummins.
