I have a 83 Volvo 760 GLE Turbo Diesel, was driving daily but uni-body structure rot has taken over, engine has approx. 80,000 miles on it, was completely overhauled bottom to top, with .0010 over pistons to tru bores, balanced too, I did work myself, I am a certified Tech, worked at Volvo dealer thru the 80's really don't need to sell but will if someone is interested in whole car, otherwise I am going to pull the engine and transmission ect and junk body, was thinking about putting it in an older Jeep like a 79' CJ7, got my eye on one but owner just won't part with it just yet, not broke enough yet as in money... LOL

I live in Buffalo NY area if anyone is interested, I know what the D24T's cost to overhaul so I don't think asking $1500 is unreasonable, transmission is stick electronic overdrive 5 speed.

Can be driven away after purchased, won't pass NYS Inspection due to structure rot.

R. Mojica... sent you a PM yesterday, Look I had a NYS Inspectors License and I would not pass the rot on this car, unsafe, If you're thinking of putting this body on the road the way it is forget it, I would if possible, yes you will be able to drive vehicle home but I wouldn't call it road worthy. So why are pics needed??? If you really want them I can provide, but I see no need, also needs a windshield ---> Cracked.

Vehicle is NO longer for sale.

I came across a cherry 84 760 GLE Turbo Diesel in Exceptional Condition, a 9 out of 10.... YES! I am so happy... ESTATIC! :D

84 need a transplant, just what I have in my 83.

I will post pics of the transplant while in progress after done.

For now here are 2 pics of the 84 I just purchased. It was listed on Craigslist in Cleveland Ohio.

+1, great news!

A couple months back, a guy named Dave on the old D24 email list and IIRC was based in Pennsylvania posted a message about having the motor blow up in his pristine white '84 764 on a trip somewhere far from home -- Ohio sounds familiar -- and he had to let the car go there. Unless I am wrong, I believe you probably just picked up that same car.

If that is true, then IIRC it was kept well for many years, including getting a rebuilt ZF trans within the last year or two -- another nice score.

I'll see if I can dig those messages up. Either way, congrats!

Hello V8Volvo

Yes the car you have just mentioned is the car I purchased.

Put it on the road yesterday evening as DMV is open late on Thursday's.

The car is in Exceptional Condition, NO Rust at all and yes the ZF Automatic has been rebuilt. I feel like a kid in the candy store, this car is beautiful, my wife was skeptical when I went to get it, "Not another piece of junk" were her words. She took one look at it on the tow dolly and said "when is your motor going to be in it, I can and want to drive it it's automatic!" She loves it and SO DO I! Everyone that has seen it can't believe the condition of it.

By the way it drives as good as it looks, I want to get the interior reupholstered in leather next year, need new wiring harnesses, or I will make them myself, windows tinted, legal of course and if I have time a complete body and paint with Spies Hecker Products, the car is worth it, and I do my own work, have done many show cars and street rods in the past, from engines kicking out the horse power, suspensions that grip and kick to making them look pretty in paint. I no longer do it for money unless someone has real deep pockets, I just do it for myself with my son, I want him to learn what pride in your work means!

God Bless
Bobby J "Ironman" :)
