hey folks, figured i would pop in and introduce my self. my name is mike and i recently acquired an 86 740 td, and will require some help in getting it running later on. :D

Sounds like a fun project! '86 is a great year to start with -- they had a lot of worthwhile upgrades over the older cars, like a redesigned engine crossmember that does not fall apart, composite battery tray, plastic fuel tank, etc. With those things you're already ahead!

Posting your location in your profile is a good idea -- will make it easier to get in touch if there is a member in your local area who might be able to help if you end up needing any special tools, parts, etc.
